Who said that wearing a swimsuit necessarily requires the sea? At Auberge de La Maison, at the foot of Mont Blanc, summer takes a different direction and, let’s admit it, a rather fascinating one: towards the mountains, wellness and a few delightful frivolities.

Nestled among the meadows of Entrèves, at an altitude of 1,300 metres and just a short distance from Courmayeur, Auberge de La Maison is one of those destinations where the holiday seems to begin even before you arrive. Here, the natural beauty of Mont Blanc provides the backdrop to everyday life, while the Alpine landscape becomes an integral part of the experience. Far from the noise, yet close enough to the centre of Courmayeur to reach it by private shuttle, the Auberge is the ideal starting point for exploring the valley and, at the same time, a place where you can indulge in the luxury of doing absolutely nothing.

It is a home before it is a hotel, and perhaps that is precisely its charm. The story of Auberge de La Maison is intertwined with the Garin family, who for three generations have carried on a tradition of hospitality deeply rooted in the local area. A story shaped by warmth, family collections and an appreciation for those details that can transform a stay into something more personal.

The interiors convey this philosophy without the need for many words: aged wood, vintage prints, the family’s art collections and sofas gathered around the fireplace recreate the warm, slightly fairytale-like atmosphere of an authentic mountain home. Not a postcard-perfect mountain setting, then, but a more intimate and lived-in one, shaped by traditions, beauty and the simple pleasure of feeling good.

This is the “Tradition du Bien Vivre”, which at the Auberge means precisely that: discovering oneself, enriching one’s life through beauty and kindness, and rediscovering a more authentic relationship with time and nature. A nature that here is not simply there to be admired, but also to be respected. Environmental awareness has become part of the House’s more recent history too: in 2019, the Auberge received European Energy Certificate System certification, confirming that 100% of the electricity supplied comes from renewable sources.

And then, of course, comes the moment to think about the swimsuit. Because if there is a spa, why not have a swimsuit designed especially for enjoying it? Auberge de La Maison has created a small collection exclusively for its Guests, turning its Alpine universe into something to wear. The toile de Jouy depicts chalets, deer, wildflowers, edelweiss and pine cones, like a little mountain fairytale to carry with you.

A light-hearted detail, almost a little indulgence, which nevertheless perfectly captures the spirit of the House: taking a piece of the Auberge with you even under the sun, between water and warmth, without ever losing the connection with the surrounding landscape.

Because, in the end, summer does not need the sea to feel like summer. Mont Blanc, a spa, a little sunshine and, naturally, the right swimsuit may be all it takes.
